An ongoing series of solarpunk inspired comics that explore the changing future in radical and unconventional ways. From AI to Fossil Fuels to cyberpunk, this Instagram comic series imagines a drastically explosive future in both pop culture and society. Through it all though, the message remains clear, we must “Demand A Better Future,” or someone will imagine something else entirely.
These are illustrations from the winning stories for the Extinction Rebellion Solarpunk Storytelling Showcase.

I was honored to create an original piece of art for Fantastic Planet, to be included in the YAY Legends Every Day art show in 2016.
Fantastic Planet is an animated film like no other and one of the most inspirational films to me artistically. It is a masterpiece of surreal and psychedelic visuals created by the late French animator Rene Laloux. This animated film from 1973 is nothing short of brilliant and is highly political with visually striking imagery that fall somewhere in between Terry Gilliam's Monty Python style animation and the artwork of Hieronymus Bosch.
So to honor Rene Laloux and this film that I loved so much I also paid homage to another piece of art that inspired me, (and contained giant robots and terrified humans)--the art of Frank Kelley Freas. Specifically what he painted for Queen's album, News of the World.
You an purchase a print of this Fantastic Planet art on Society 6:
The images are as follows:
1) Fantastic Planet poster style artwork
2) The artwork by itself without any design or text.
3) The process of creating the art in an animated GIF.
Album artwork of Cthulhu for Ghostwriter’s OF HAIL AND FIRE.
A collection of pop art and political art inspired by Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke's, 2001 A space odyssey. Worship the monolith you damn dirty apes!
You can find prints, T-Shirts and more in my store.

Inspired by George Orwell's Animal Farm and Pink Floyd's 1977 album, Animals as well as the current state of Trump's America--we have arrived at ANIMAL COUNTRY. A new evolutionary extension from the CONSUME series.
It's the perfect time for an Orwellian series to emerge because we are still just animals in a hierarchy of madness dictated by the PIGS who force us to CONSUME their visage, philosophies and ideals every day 24/7.
The following art and test videos are from the Animal Country animated series, currently in development by the same folks who brought you Tweet, the parody of Radiohead's Creep.
SIMILARITIES: THE PLANET OF THE APES and THE PARKLAND SHOOTING.
CONSUME is a pop art series that is a biting satirical take on pop culture, politics and products with a blunt social commentary on greed, corruption, narcissism, materialism, consumerism, hatred & bigotry.
CONSUME started off as a series of 5 images that I created in 2015, inspired by John Carpenter's 1980's cult classic film, They Live. With a few more I stirred up a little controversy and the CONSUME series took on a life of its own due to the enormous support I've received from around the world.
CONSUME has continuously taken the corrupt political system of the United States to task and has been shared all over the internet millions of times while also being covered by multiple news outlets, art, geeky, political sites and more.
At the request of my fans, I have made my work available for purchase in exclusive places on the internet.

CONSUME is a social commentary on greed, corruption, narcissism, materialism, consumerism, hatred & bigotry. This particular group of images focuses on the blind consumerism that brands enslave people with. It particularly centers in on fast food, and tech. Athletes are by far one of the most narcissistic people in the entertainment world and their fans often blindly follow their assholery such as cheating, racism, rape, mistreatment of women and more.
Then there are puppet like commissioners who wield power on behalf of their owners such as Roger Goddell of the NFL, a man who played a huge role in covering up the long term of damage the sport of football has on the brain (CTE).

CONSUME THE GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL:
The CONSUME series has been shown in galleries all over the world.
In 2016 the CONSUME series, consumed the Glastonbury Festival by not only influencing the design, look and feel of the Shangri-La destination, but by artistically focusing on the BREXIT event which happened during the festival. Shangri-La has been described as, " a lawless, Mad Max-ian wonderland where anything goes," by NME.
Shangri-La was branded with CONSUME and used to enhance the concept of the late night venue which was, "Media Hell, truth and lies." Using printed posters, banners, video and animation the Hal Hefner' s CONSUME series joined forces with other artists such as Shepherd Fairey, Darren Cullen, Pref, Steve Cutts and many more.
Comprised of billionaires, former wall street execs, oil tycoons, racists and one percenters, Donald Trump and the GOP are reflective of the shadiness and comic book like villainy found in Batman's Rogue's Gallery.
This series is inspired by Mark Hamill's recordings of himself as the Joker from Batman the Animated series, reading the tweets of Donald Trump.
If you are interested in prints or shirts from this series I have curated a collection on my Society6 store.
You can find some of my pulp culture mashups available for and shirts prints on Society6.
In January of 2011 Gates, Heavy Metal Magazine's first webcomic was launched. I wrote and illustrated the digital comic book that ran for over a year and a half with weekly updates. It was recognized by many nerd news outlets from Comic Book Resources to MTV Geek for its art and story.
Here are some samples of the first 5 pages and various panels in the webcomic.
If you'd like to read the comic book in it's entirety it is available here. READ GATES THE COMIC
Gates is Heavy Metal Magazine's first webcomic, that was presented online in 2011. The webcomic ended in 2012 but there is a lot more of the story to tell. Here are a few samples of some concept art and character design for the next phase of Gates' journey which will eventually be continued in the narrative of the Serpent Seed property, currently in development.
@theLIONHAWK is an experimental Motion Book I created for a property I am developing called the Serpent Seed. You can read the motion book on DeviantArt and Madefire. @theLIONHAWK was a fun artistic experiment combining real photography, artwork, conspiracy theories and animation and music.

Ridley Scott's sci-fi, cyberpunk masterpiece is one of my favorite movies of all time. It has inspired me since I was a child, when I first saw it on VHS. In honor of this 80's classic, I created this Bladerunner piece of art for YAY LA Magazine's YAY LEGENDS EVERYDAY Art show in 2016. Entitled "It's too bad she won't live. But then again, who does?" --This is one of my favorite scenes in cinematic history. Harrison Ford as Deckard is haunted by the unicorn origami left for him by Gaff (Edward James Olmos). It's a comic panel style montage that uses a limited color palette inspired by cyberpunk and Nintendo style 80's art.
I love it so much I even made a GIF out of it.
You can buy a print of this Bladerunner art at Society 6.
I had the opportunity to develop some key art for the packaging for Darksiders 2 for THQ. At this point the main character was not even fully designed so it was a lot of fun exploring the craziness of the world. Some of the background imagery was provided to me by THQ but a lot of it I had to design myself.
Posters for the originally entitled film, Kudzo Zombies, now called, Attack of the Southern Fried Zombies.
Poster and social content for the indie film: My Zombie Club
I wrote a biopic about the influential comedian Bill Hicks which was supposed to be published by Bluewater comics in 2013. It's in limbo right now but the concept still remains. Here is some art I created for the cover. Bill's words still inspire me to this day and it was an honor to draw him.
“The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we … kill those people. "Shut him up! I've got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok … But it doesn't matter, because it's just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.” - Bill Hicks

A series of character art I created for the a marketing campaign pitch for the movie, Tim Burton's, MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN.
Some of my favorite projects involve concept art for people or companies creating pitches for movies. I was lucky enough to get hired for some of my favorite properties growing up such as Masters of the Universe and Planet of the Apes. These concepts never made it to production but they were sure fun to create as they were very different takes on the source material. I also enjoy designing monsters and aliens such as HALLOWHEAD an urban legend from Upstate NY--and the dirt clown, a creepy Halloween costume concept I designed for a band in Los Angeles, CA.
A selection of Horror themed pop art.
Here are some various examples I have created for the Shadow Gang, Alderac Entertainment Group and Evil Hat Productions.
Concept art for the Han Solo Adventure's game.
Here are some samples of some fan art I've created for some of my favorite characters over the years. In 2010 I painted this old Luke Skywalker concept and strangely enough it was very close to the Luke we saw in the Force Awakens. It has been used in articles all across the internet prior to the movie coming out as a reference for what Luke might be. That is an honor.
Tweet is a parody video focuses on the Tweety little lies typed with the tiny hands of Donald Trump created in June 2017, by a group of artistis and creatives that I created this with. We call our selves HATEIOHEAD.

Sketches are the beginning of any great idea. They are sometimes well defined, or just ideas flushed out quickly. Whether it be pencil or digital, black and white or color, a sketch is the most important thing to kick start your concept.
